COSTUME FOR CHANGE

In 2021, I worked collaboratively with Arts University Bournemouth and Inside Out Dorset to make a 'Welly Walk Dress' that won the Costume for Change competition. The designer Ella Kearvell produced an amazing design in which she wanted to capture an interactive, educational piece inspired by a child's 'Welly Walk'.

This project was a great chance to work alongside Ella Kearvell, Katie Heape (supervisior), and Gen Palmer (costume interpretor) to reach the end result we were all passionate about. This costume was all about using sustainable fabrics for example; pineapple silk, bamboo silk, seaweed, organic cotton along with natural dyes from plants and fruits.
