ANNABEL DRURY
Costume Interpreter
I have a BA (Hons) degree in Costume and Performance Design from Arts University Bournemouth. I specialise in Costume Interpretation.
I have gained a wide range of experience during my time at AUB which includes cut and construction of men and women's wear, tailoring and corsetry. I also have experience in alterating and repairing costumes for professional productions.
I have equal experience of interpreting both male and female costumes. I am passionate about making theatre costumes and giving each costume its own personality. I am able to apply a wide range of decorative techniques to enhance the costume. I also have a close eye for attention to detail.
I thoroughly enjoy working backstage as a dresser/part of the wardrobe department. I am very organised and love working in a team environment. The collaborative aspect of backstage working with actors and make-up artists forms such an excitement which I love to be part of.
During my spare time I love going to the theatre and watching new productions. I also have a real passion for sports including tennis and running which I regularly participate in.

Sewing Labels Business
After finishing my GCSE's I set up my own business sewing school labels on for parents during the summer period, as well as helping out with any alterations they requested.Â
This has given me experience of producing promotional material to market my services, agree pricing with clients and the importance of excellent client service. This business has been such fun and an exciting opportunity for me to use my sewing skills to help others.Â
Having this business has also made me much more confident in myself as well as talking to customers.Â
Due to the sucess and growth of the business I have been running it every summer which has helped me to fund my University course and results in repeat business, as well as recommendations from a number of clients.
