OXFORD PLAYHOUSE 'ROBIN HOOD AND HIS MERRY BAND'

In 2021, I worked collaboratively with Amanda Hambleton and Wayne Martin to make the Sheriff of Nottingham's costume for the Oxford Playhouse's 'Robin Hood and His Merry Band' Christmas Pantomine.

COSTUME FOR CHANGE

In 2021, I worked collaboratively with Arts University Bournemouth and Inside Out Dorset to make a 'Welly Walk Dress' that won the Costume for Change competition.

CYRANO DE BERGERAC

For a AUB production of Cyrano De Bergerac, I made the costume for the character of Count Antoine De Guiche, designed by Katherine Haynes Hoszkiewicz.

THE MERMAID

In this project I was Head of Wardrobe and a dresser on a live AUB production.

THE WORKING SHEPARD SMOCK

In 2022, Gen Palmer and I worked collaboratively with Charlotte Baxter (designer) to create a Working Shepard Smock. This would be displayed in the Dorset Museum.

THE MAGIC FLUTE

The jacket and breeches were made from a design drawn by Kalina Konieczny inspired by the Opera, The Magic Flute. I designed and made all the decorative elements which can be seen on the costume.

1/2 TAILORED SINGLE BREASTED MORNING COAT 1860-1900S

In 2020, I completed my first project in tailoring. I have experience in the construction of menswear and tailoring.

BIKERS AND BLOOMERS

I interpreted designs by Kieran Wilkinson, of mid-late 19th century Victorian female cycling wear, to make the above costume.

CORDED PETTICOAT

This corded petticoat was inspired by The Brother's Grimm fairy-tale 'The Frog King'. This type of petticoat would have been placed over a bustle or cage and therefore I have incorporated a simple frill decoration.

1874 HORSEHAIR BUSTLE

I made this bustle from horsehair fabric which is machine stitched throughout.
It has 5 layers of double box pleats which are attached to a base panel that creates the voluminious frills.
This undergarment would have been worn with a corset and placed underneath a petticoat, fastening with waist ties.

1890S BRIDAL CORSET

I have experience in corsetry construction. The corset is made from an Ivory brocade fabric.
The corset has 12 panels, and the seams have decoratively been covered by 3 bone channels, which have been top stitched on the right side of the fabric. Down the centre front is a straight busk, and the centre back is laced with 20 eyelets. The bones I have used inside are spiral bones which create a more flattering shape over the bust and waist.

1735-50 FULLY BONED CORSET BODICE

This corset is made out of sustainable fabrics, which I sourced from The Dorset Scrap Store.
The fabric I found was perfect as it had a rich, decorative pattern that also gave a historical aspect. The binding around the edges and a large majority of the bones were found from the Arts University Bournemouth fabric wall. The eyelets and ribbon were from my own personal collection.
The corset is made from 8 panels with a decorative stomacher.

CIRCUS CLOWN COSTUME

I completed this project in 2019, which allowed me to design and make a jumpsuit and pinefore for a clown, to be worn at a circus performance.
